Parties Hold Primaries In Zwedru

ZWEDRU, June 15 (LINA) - Registered political parties have been holding primaries in Grand Gedeh County in line with the National Election Commission (NEC) guidelines.

The Alternative National Congress (ANC) recently elected on white ballot three of its representative aspirants under supervision of party executives from headquarters in Monrovia to contest the October 10 elections .

Aspirants Sedike Barbar Kaba, Isaac N. Zulu and Henry Younis were all elected on white ballot for Grand Gedeh County Electoral District numbers one, two and three respectively.

The United People’s Party has also elected Messrs. Cyrus S. Cooper Jr, Pyne Walo and Ophorie Deah as its representative candidates for 

three districts, according to official party sources, while reports from other camps are scanty.

Party leaders told the Liberia News Agency that they are doing everything possible to meet the National Election Commission guidelines on primaries.

Meanwhile, voters are visit polling centers in big numbers to review registration rolls to ensure inclusion of their names as qualified voters.
